Faith Over Flesh: Seeing God Beyond the Hurt
Life will teach you one thing for sure — people will let you down. No matter how pure your intentions or how much you pour into them, at some point, someone you trusted will betray, disappoint, or abandon you. And if you’re not careful, that hurt can harden your heart and make you start losing faith — not just in people, but in everything.
But here’s the truth: you were never meant to put your faith in people in the first place. You were meant to trust in the God that operates through them.
⸻
The Human Part of the Process
See, people are imperfect. They act out of emotion, fear, and sometimes pure selfishness. Even the ones God uses to bless you will make mistakes, because they’re still fighting their own battles. But when you understand that God moves through people, not because of them, it changes how you see everything.
When someone hurts you, instead of focusing on the wound, start asking, “What is God trying to show me here?”
When someone walks out of your life, maybe it’s not rejection — maybe it’s redirection.
When betrayal hits, maybe it’s revelation — showing you who can’t go with you where God is taking you.
God’s plan is always bigger than the pain.
⸻
Grace Isn’t Optional
We mess up too. Over and over again. We cross God daily — in our thoughts, our actions, our decisions — and yet He still forgives us. Not because we deserve it, but because His love is deeper than our failure.
That same grace we receive is the grace we’re called to extend. It doesn’t mean forgetting what happened or letting people walk all over you. It means choosing to see God’s hand at work even in what hurt you. That’s maturity. That’s faith. That’s growth.
⸻
The Bigger Picture
Pain narrows your vision. It zooms in on the offense, the betrayal, the “why me?” But faith zooms out. It sees that the hurt is only one focal point in a much larger, spiritual picture.
Every heartbreak, every letdown, every misunderstanding — it’s all a stroke in the masterpiece God is painting. You may not like the color or the brushstroke, but when you step back, you’ll realize He was creating something beautiful the whole time.
⸻
Closing Thought
So today, don’t let the actions of people make you question the intentions of God.
Trust that He’s still in control.
Even when it hurts.
Even when you don’t understand.
Because your faith was never meant to rest on man — it was meant to rest on the Master.
Stay faithful. Stay focused. Stay connected.
